            2011 NHRA SUMMIT RACING SERIES FINALS

The 2011 Team Spokane Season is a 6 race series broken down into 5 competing classes;
Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Motorcycle and High School.

 

Joining the Team

The cost to join 2011 Team Spokane is $20.00.  By joining the team you will receive a chance to win a gold card (free entry into the track for 2012). You will also be competing for an opportunity to race at the Summit ET Finals.  When signing up you must chose a class you wish to compete in for the year. Please see the Summit Series Rules to determine the class best suited for you. 

 

Earning Points

  1. Joining the team the first race gets you 100pts, second race 90pts, third race 80pts,etc
  2. Buying a tech card gets you 100 points
  3. You earn 100 points for each round you win
  4. Bonus Points
    1. Best reaction time in round one of eliminations gets 16 points, second best gets 15 points, etc. down to the 16th best reaction time which is good for 1 point
    2. A perfect light (0.000) in any round of eliminations gets an additional 10 points
    3. Running your dial with a 0 during any round of eliminations gets 10 points

Note:  If you choose to change classes during the series, up or down, you will lose
your round points and only take your show up points with you to your new class.

 

Class Champions

The racer with the most points at the end of the season will be announced the 2011 Team
Spokane Track Champion. The champion earns a Gold Card for 2012 and a Championship Jacket.

 

In the event there is a tie in points in any class at the end of the season,
a 'one' shot run off will determine the Champion.

  Oil-Retention Devices- Racers in Pro and Super Pro running 9.99 and quicker, or faster than 135 mph are strongly urged to utilize an oil-retention device. Any racer in a vehicle capable of running quicker than 9.99 or faster than 135 mph who deposits oil on the track and is NOT using an oil-retention device will be penalized. That driver’s team will be docked one point from the Track Manager’s Challenge (only if it happens during the Race of Champions) or one point from the team race on Sunday. Penalty will only be enforced if a piece of equipment – i.e. tractor, sweeper, etc. – is required to clean up the oil. NHRA will have sole discretion in assigning penalties.

SUPER PRO ET (1/4 mile 7.00 – 11.99)
1. Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment or OEM replacement. See general regulations 9:1.
2. Data Recorders: Permitted. See general regulations 9:2 & 9:10.
3. Delay Boxes: Permitted. One box/device only attached to transbrake and/or throttle timer only. Delay box may only display delay
amount. All direct wiring must be clearly identifiable to the tech inspector. See class and General Regulations Section 8.
4. Transbrake: Permitted.
5. Line lock: Four-wheel line lock permitted.
6. Automated Shifter: Permitted.
7. Throttle Control: Permitted per NHRA rulebook.
8. Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Three-steps, Two-steps, or single stage rev limiters permitted. Any rpm limiting device legal
unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a down-track rpm controller, prohibited.
9. Switches & Buttons: All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type.
Infrared lasers, retinal scan, fingerprint, light source or any other non-mechanical type switch and/or button prohibited.

PRO ET (1/4 mile 9.00 – 13.99)
1. Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment or OEM replacement. See general regulations 9:1.
2. Data Recorders: Prohibited. See general regulations 9:2 & 9:10.
3. Delay Boxes: Prohibited.
4. Transbrake: Permitted. Transbrake switch must be NHRA-accepted; contact Division Tech Director for accepted list.
5. Line lock: Four-wheel line lock permitted. Line lock switch must be NHRA-accepted.
6. Automated Shifter: Prohibited. Electronic or pneumatic shifter permitted; must be manually controlled by driver.
7. Throttle Control: Throttle must be manually operated by the driver’s foot. Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics or any other device
may in no way affect the throttle operation. A dead-stop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted. Throttle timers, counters prohibited.
8. Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Starting line and or ‘high side’ rev limiters permitted. Two-steps, rev limiters or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a down-track rpm controller, prohibited.
9. Switches & Buttons: All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type. Infrared lasers, retinal scan, fingerprint, and light source or any other non-mechanical type switch and/or button prohibited.
10. Tow vehicles: Prohibited.
11. Full-bodied vehicles may not cross the starting line on any burnout.

SPORTSMAN ET (1/4 mile 12.00 & Slower)
1. Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment or OEM replacement. See general regulations 9:1.
2. Data Recorders: Prohibited. See general regulations 9:2 & 9:10.
3. Delay Boxes: Prohibited.
4. Transbrake: Prohibited.
5. Line lock: Four-wheel line lock prohibited. Two-wheel line lock permitted on non-drive wheels only. Line lock switch must be NHRAaccepted.
6. Automated Shifter: Prohibited unless OEM equipped. Electronic or pneumatic shifter permitted; must be manually controlled by driver.
7. Throttle Control: Throttle must be manually operated by the driver’s foot. Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation. A dead-stop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted. Throttle timers, counters prohibited.
8. Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Single stage ‘high side only’ rev limiters permitted. Rev limiters or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a down-track rpm controller prohibited. Crank trigger system prohibited, unless OEM distributorless ignition. Ignition systems equipped with built-in two step rev limiters must have the ‘low side’ (start line) function disabled.
9. Switches & Buttons: All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type. Infrared lasers, retinal scan, fingerprint, and light source or any other non-mechanical type switch and/or button prohibited.
10. Tow vehicles: Prohibited.
11. Sportsman E.T. vehicles may not cross the starting line on any burnout.

BIKE/SLED ET (1/4 mile 7.00 & slower) HIGH SCHOOL ET (1/4 mile 11.00 and slower)
Same electronic rules as Pro cars applies to motorcycles; Same rules as Pro or Sportsman; limited to no quicker data recorders permitted. than 11.00 E.T. (1/4 mile).

JR LIGHTNING (13 years & older) JR THUNDER (8 years – 12 years old)
NO PASSENGERS ALLOWED IN ANY VEHICLE
