On Tuesday, June 29th, Spokane County Commissioners approved the necessary funds to reconfigure the 2.5 mile Road
Course here at Spokane County Raceway! Safety is number one, of course; this improvement will allow racers and staff
to access the facility during Road Course days without having to cross a 'hot track'. This improvement will effectively
resolve the issue road racers currently have with the concrete pad and will allow us to permanently set the right lane
retaining wall on the Drag Strip, which will eliminate the need to separate Road Course days from Drag Strip days.
Simply put, 2011 will offer a much better scenario for everyone who races here!

2010 Oval Track Facility Update
Here is where we stand as of June 11th:
Much needed safety improvements are scheduled the Oval Track; for safety reasons, we absolutely cannot run
on the Oval until these improvements are completed. The focus of the Management Team here at Spokane County
Raceway is all encompassing, not single minded as it might 'appear'. We had truly hoped that these improvements
would have taken place by now, but that just isn't the case. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused

Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series schedule

NHRA officials have announced the addition of Spokane County Raceway to the NHRA Northwest Division Lucas Oil
Drag Racing Series schedule. The Northwest Thunderfest event, scheduled for July 29-Aug. 1, will be the third in the series,
taking the number of events to six in the division and 40 in the series.
Spokane County Raceway came onboard as an NHRA member track last year and hosted its first Lucas Oil
Drag Racing Series event, the winners of which were Shawn Cowie, Top Alcohol Dragster; Doug Lambeck,
Comp; Jody Lang, Super Stock; and Greg Kielman, Stock. All four drivers won the NHRA Northwest Division Lucas
Oil Drag Racing Series championship last year in their classes.
The track has also scheduled the Nostalgia Nitro Funny Car class along with exhibition jet cars to run Friday and
Saturday nights. Lucas Oil racers will be vying for points toward national and divisional championships.
